BMW ALPINA B4 Gran Coupé

Chassis

ALPINA Sport Suspension

A negative camber of 1.25° at the front axle in combination with specially developed front-axle anti-roll bars increase lateral dynamics significantly. A bespoke spring and damper configuration ensures balanced suspension characteristics and the specific adaptation of the variable damper control ensures a noticeable differentiation between the various driving modes.

Variable sports steering

The variable sports steering offers direct steering feel and feedback. The driver can choose between three steering modes: COMFORT mode offers balanced directional stability with a good safety feeling into the higher-speed range, while the two SPORT modes are characterised by substantially more direct feedback.

Ultra-high performance tyres

The Pirelli P ZERO ultra-high performance tyres offer high levels of grip and lateral support. The manufacturer code ALP on the tyre flank indicates that this is a custom tyre developed specifically by Pirelli for ALPINA. During the development process equal emphasis was placed on ride comfort and dynamic characteristics.

Safety reserves

The brake system has been dimensioned with the handling potential of the BMW ALPINA B4 and a top speed of 301 km/h (187 mph) in mind. Four-piston fixed brake callipers with Ø 395 mm (15.6") brake discs at the front axle and floating brake callipers with Ø 345 mm (13.6") brake discs at the rear axle offer generous safety reserves. The optional high-performance brake system* with drilled lightweight composite brake discs offers more precise pedal feedback and thermodynamic reserves.

*Please note that drilled brake discs may lead to a loss of acoustic comfort.

Stated fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are measured pursuant to EU Regulation 715/2007 in its applicable version. From 1st of September 2018 the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) has replaced the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

From January 2021 onwards, European Union member states are required to ensure that new passenger cars offered for sale, for lease or exhibited in showrooms or similar, are clearly labelled with consumption and emission data according to the new WLTP test cycle. Work is currently underway on the amendment of the German regulatory framework which governs the implementation of this European Union obligation in German law, its final completion however is still outstanding. For a number of new vehicles, NEDC consumption and emission values are no longer available, it is therefore reasonable that the more realistic WLTP consumption and emission values are provided to customers instead.

The official manufacturer consumption and emission values have already been determined on the basis of the new WLTP test cycle and, for some models, calculated back to NEDC test cycle for information purposes. The WLTP values are used for the assessment of taxes.

BMW ALPINA B4                                                       Gran Coupé
Fuel consumption WLTP, combined:                         10.1 l/100 km
CO2 emissions WLTP combined:                              229 g/km

All technical data apply to the German market, additional international units of measure shown in the technical data for the purposes of information only. Further information on specific fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of new passenger cars is provided by the ‚Leitfaden über den Kraftstoffverbrauch, die CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer Personenkraftwagen‘ which can be obtained free of charge at all points of sale and from the Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT) or online https://www.dat.de/co2/.

Modifications and errors excepted.
