Best intake of orders in the company’s history

ALPINA celebrated four world premieres in 2013 at the leading motor shows in Geneva, Frankfurt and Tokyo. All of the new models were extremely positively received and generated a sensational intake of orders.

The presentation of the first BMW ALPINA Sports Activity Vehicle, the XD3, at the Geneva Motor Show generated a big stir. The XD3 was developed and tested in maximum secrecy, undetected by prototype hunters and the specialist press. The gathered specialist press fell in love with the BMW ALPINA XD3 Bi-Turbo at first sight. The level of enthusiasm amongst customers resulted in more than 200 orders. The compact SUV combines driving fun and impressive torque with moderate consumption habits – all in a unique way.

As expected, the new BMW ALPINA B3 Bi-Turbo, available in Saloon and Touring versions with 301kW (410hp) and 600Nm of torque, was also very well received in Geneva. Swiss customers above all appreciate the optionally available all-wheel drive.

It was then the turn of the fastest production diesel in the world, the new BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo, to move into the spotlight at the International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt. With 257kW (350hp) and 700Nm of torque, it offers sports car performance paired with the fuel consumption of a small car. The D3 accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.6seconds to reach a top speed of 278km/h with the Saloon delivering average fuel consumption of 5.3l and 139g/km of CO2 emissions. Around 200 orders were received for the diesel model in 2013.

Japan has been one of the most important markets for ALPINA for many years. The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show was therefore the ideal platform on which to launch the fourth world premiere of 2013: the BMW ALPINA B4 Bi-Turbo Coupé. The elegant lines of the Coupé attracted about 250 journalists at the ALPINA press conference. The automobile manufactory received round and about 520 orders for the B3/B4 in 2013.

The total intake of orders of almost 1,700 BMW ALPINA cars made it the best in the history of ALPINA.

A highly promising start to 2014 is giving rise to a sense of anticipation.

In any event, things are sure to get exciting for all automobile enthusiasts and fans of ALPINA on the shores of Lake Geneva in March…
